"Indigenous Theobroma Bicolor"

This rare cacao pod commonly known as 'Cacao Blanco' (or Wild Cacao or Zweifarbiger Kakao (german)) is indigenous to tropical Latin American regions e.g. Ecuador's Oriente, requiring a humid rainforest environment to prosper. Although bitter in taste, it is very good for making juices and can be used for medicinal purposes (e.g. against coughs). It is
extremely hard to grow commercially and its natural habit is fast disappearing.
