Pod Husks"
Some husks show signs of insect damage, further evidence
of how delicate the cacao tree is. Pod Husks are essentially a waste
product of the cocoa production process. Each ton of dry seed represents
about 10 tons of husks. Small amounts of husks have been used to make
cattle feed, cocoa pigment and soaps.
